This Community Outreach facility was housed in an antiquated brick Parish hall internally land locked with limited street access. WESKetch offered solutions to update the facility and connect it by way of a new public courtyard plaza that would serve as a gathering area for the multi-use facility.
Included in the uses of the building was the desire to revive an abandoned community theater. The project originated with a simple structure intended to serve only as the minimum code requirements for egress from the upper floors as well as accessibility. The WESKetch team while working in concert with public officials, the community center directors, and financing organizations developed a program and design for the structure that not only met those initial requirements, but also created an entrance and new identity for the organization. Plans to complete the facility are ongoing as charitable contributions are made. This project has been registered for LEED certification, and is pending approval.
Reconsider
Reconsider is an idea as well as a retail store. Reconsider represents an environmentally sustainable alternative to the big box home centers. Every item in the store , including the store itself, considers its environmental impact first and foremost.
Gateway Bistro
A small café in a bustling concourse, the gateway Bistro was in need of a makeover. Having been at the same location for over a decade, the owners were instrumental in laying out the café to maximize space and increase efficiency. Removing frosted glass and bulky items from the perimeter of the café, opened up the space to the concourse and allowed for greater visibility from all directions. New counters help control the flow of patrons and allow the limited staff to attend to everyone in a quick and efficient manner.
Henley on Hudson
The urban environment has fallen victim to decades of
economic and social neglect. The Hudson River Waterfront was one such area, as a result of the developers' recognition of the hidden potential and WESKetch's careful planning and design, this new housing project will be vibrant once again.
The design takes advantage of the waterfront exposure and the value of views; public and private. Open space is designed at a maximum providing large green space and common conveniences. 85% of the town homes are provided with premium waterfront vistas and large open private green space courtyards. These open park-like spaces provide the stacked town homes with expanded vistas as well.
Additionally, we have provided 16 luxury penthouse units atop the four condo buildings, all with rooftop terraces and premium views of the Hudson River and Manhattan skyline. Parking deficiencies have been creatively resolved by providing two of the four "U" shaped town home clusters with covered parking for visitors as well as private access to rear garages for each unit resulting in a yield of greater than 2.5 cars per unit for the entire site.
This development offers luxury town homes with four distinct unit types, 69 units total with areas ranging from 2270-2400 square feet with various options. There are also 96 units of condos ranging in size from 1650- 2000 square feet, offering condo type living, 16 of which are premium penthouse type units ranging from 1600-1700 square feet.
Careful planning and proper evaluation are required for the success of any urban project.

Skyline Ridge
Located in Springfield, New Jersey on the site of an abandoned swim club, this residential development will have commanding views of New York City and the backdrop of a beautifully mature sloping site with large trees and natural untouched foliage. This site, which has severely steep slopes, rock outcroppings and limited access, was a challenging site to design a three-story residential building with two parking levels below grade.
The building will consist of 93 two bedroom units, below grade parking, and additional parking at grade. This design reuses previously developed areas of the previous swim club, lessening the impact of the site as well as benefit in cost savings.
Amenities of this development will include outside walking trails, intimate covered seating areas, play areas for children, an indoor health/ exercise facility, and a private lounge area on each residential floor.
